With Valentine’s Day quickly approaching, I wanted to use the January Club of the Month Stitching Die to create a love themed card. Therefore, I added hearts to the stitched ladybug instead of spots and used a previous club die for the word “love”. By combining these two clubs, I created a sweet love bug card which is available from my Etsy store.
Both “love” and the lady bug are made from stitching dies, but I chose NOT to stitch them. By omitting the stitching, it was a very quick and easy card to make!

Let’s break down this sweet love bug card…
I began with a teal card base, cutting it at 4 1/4” x 11”, and scoring at 5 1/5”, resulting in a top folding card.
The background panel is red and measures 4” x 5 1/4” and is textured with Spellbinders Tiny Heart Scallop Embossing Folder.
The pink striped mat was cut from Lawn Fawn Really Rainbow designer paper using one of the dies that came with the January Club Stitching Dies.
I used Spellbinders Stitched Love to cut the letters L-O-V-E from the same teal card stock as the card base. This Stitched Love die set is an ideal if you’re just wanting to dip your toes into the stitching. It offers many separate dies that can be used individually. Plus it has a fabulous large scallop die for awesome matting opportunities!
I used an assortment of heart shaped punches to create the “spots” on the sweet love bug By placing an iridescent circle onto the center heart, I added a touch of sparkle.
To sum it up…
Spellbinders Monthly Clubs are one of the best ways to increase your crafting tools and end up with products that actually work together! There’s nothing hodge-podge about these clubs. Each month is designed with coordination in mind.
I used to buy products in a random way, based on what I loved in the moment. I was then left to wonder why nothing ever worked together. Can you relate?!?
Well, I no longer shop that way, not anymore! If you haven’t guessed, I am totally smitten with these clubs. I truly believe they’re the best bang for your buck AND the best way to craft without stress!
Consider signing up for a club today, I think you’ll be glad you did! I’d love to hear your thoughts on the clubs, whether you’ve never joined, are thinking about joining, or have been a club member for years. Let me know what you think!
