Time sure flies, doesn’t it? It seems like only yesterday that I was excited for summer, warmer days and the camping season ahead, and now we’re entering Fall. I’m okay with that, actually, because that means more time in my craft room!
Even though we spent much of our summer camping, I had to take something crafty along to do. By planning ahead, I die cut loads of stitching dies & stamped images. Then I packed just the bare essentials and was able to fill my need to craft away from home. I stitched and colored my prepped pieces while sitting at the campfire or picnic table, which was so relaxing! Once home, I was able to assemble everything onto cards.
Because of my productivity while camping, I had to figure out what to do with so many new creations. I brainstormed, and decided to open an Etsy store. For the past month or so, I’ve been busy setting up that store, https://regalstamping.etsy.com/. I can now sell my handmade cards, retired stamp sets and the like. I hope you’ll take a minute and check it out.
Today I’m sharing one of my summertime creations, but you can see a previous card here.
All the details…
This cute little scene was created with a couple of different Lawn Fawn stamp sets, Apple-solutely Awesome and Treat Cart. I have fallen in love with Lawn Fawn because everything coordinates between stamp sets. This makes it easy to “shop my stash” and put different images together. I just love that!
The background was ink blended with Distress Oxide inks and then splattered with paint for some added interest. I used Lawn Fawn’s Hillside Borders die to create the grassy green backdrop.
A helpful coloring tip
These images went with me on a camping trip and I used Ohuhu alcohol markers to color each piece. I find it’s easier to color small pieces by placing them on a sticky surface, such as an old Cricut mat. I cut an old mat into fourths for this purpose, making each sticky mat roughly 6″ x 6″. This keeps the pieces from scooting around while coloring and the smaller mat size easily fits on my messy desk!
To finish the inside of the card, I added a die cut banner and another cute mouse. The banner is from Sunny Studio Stamps, called Brilliant Banner 1. The sentiment “sweet birthday wishes” came from Sunny Studio’s Garden Fairy stamp set.
This card is available from my Etsy store, RegalStamping, along with many other handmade cards. You can find it here. If it’s sold out, hang tight, while I make some more! 🙂

Life has a tendency to get busy, but I hope to stay in touch more often as the weather becomes cooler. In the meantime, I hope you’re spending time doing the things that make you happy!
Until next time,
