I’ve got a confession to make…I have a thing for the gingerbread man and I’m betting that I’m not alone! Every year when Christmas rolls around, this cute little, yummy tasting man becomes a seasonal favorite. From decorations and ornaments, to decorated gingerbread houses and fancifully frosted cookies, this little guy has stolen our hearts!
Thankfully, the stamping market is full of different gingerbread variations and I always find myself searching for the next cute set! Trust me when I say “I’m a sucker for gingerbread stamps and dies!!”
Day 1 of my gingerbread showcase
Today I’m sharing a card with a cute little gingerbread couple. It’s one that we made in my Christmas stamp camp in October 2023, but it still brings a smile to my face! The stamps are from Sunny Studio Stamps, called Christmas Cookies and it’s coordinating dies. They were stamped with black ink and colored in with alcohol markers. I had not yet discovered Ohuhu Alcohol Markers when this card was made, and OH! What a difference they make! I love coloring with them.
An opening was made in a white card stock panel using Stitched Semi-Circle dies, which I also used in a previous post. I used the same die to repeat the shape, cutting it from some green decorative paper, piecing it into the opening to create a wintery backdrop. Once I had stamped and die cut the trees, I placed the gingerbread couple into the opening, placing the trees around them. The word “sweet” was cut from red glitter paper using a retired Sunny Studio die and the remaining sentiment was stamped with red ink.
My craft room has been a very busy place over the past few days, with all kinds of Christmas creations being made. I can’t wait to share some of it with you very soon!
Until then,
~Krista
