There’s still time to sign up for Spellbinders Monthly Clubs, which includes the stitching ladybug dies, complete with oval frame and sentiments. As fellow crafters, I’m sure you’d agree that having fresh new products is a great way to jump-start those creative juices. I get so excited when my box arrives and I “ooh” and “aah” over each item! Can you relate?
As an affiliate for Spellbinders, I receive the stitching dies ahead of their release, allowing me to concentrate on just one of the monthly club offerings. If you click on a link within this post and make a purchase, I will make a small referral commission at no extra cost to you. I truly appreciate when you shop with my links, so thank you in advance!
This month’s stitch-able ladybug and frame has given me hours of relaxation and creative opportunities. Whether I’m stitching in front of the television, on the road (as a passenger!), in my craft room or while sitting by a campfire, I’m always amazed at how the stresses of life disappear. Perhaps stitching could help you, as well!
I’m sharing two cards today, so let’s take a look.
A traditional lady bug…
First up is my traditional red lady bug which sits on a gray oval background. I stitched red on red for the wings and a dark gray on the black heads and spots.
The dark gray oval frame was left unstitched, leaving a nice polka dot pattern all the way around. Everything was placed onto a black panel and a black card base.
The dark surrounding colors really make the red wings pop! For some additional color, I added a yellow flower with leaves at the top and bottom of the oval. I used pink jewels on the flower centers.
The white sentiment banners fit the curve of the oval. I love how Spellbinders makes things work together so well!
If you’re new to stitching dies, be sure and read my tips and tricks from my earlier post, Ladybugs in Stitches for the New Year.
A trio of bugs…
For my second card today, I used some non-traditional colors for my ladybugs. With pink, yellow and blue, these bugs lay on a leafy background that was made using Scattered Tropics 3D embossing folder and then inking it with different greens. I first introduced this embossing folder in this previous post, In Love with my Pineapple Stitching Die.
The slimline card size allowed enough room to place three bugs without being crowded. I used my glimmer machine and gold foil, along with Spellbinders More Sentiments plate and die set, creating a beautiful, shiny sentiment.
I hope you’ll give Spellbinders Monthly Clubs a try! The deadline to subscribe is January 27. After that date, you’ll be able to purchase items as open stock if they’re still available. Another perk of being a subscriber, is a 10% discount on select Spellbinders products all month long! It’s a small discount that adds up quickly!
Remember, stitching can be a stress reliever and that’s cheaper than therapy! LOL! Monthly clubs for the win!!
Until next time,
~Krista
