Hello again, my crafty friends! Today I’m bringing you some Christmas sweetness that’s got zero calories but is loads of fun! And during this time of year, calorie free is a blessing…you’re welcome!! 🙂
Today’s “Agenda”…
I’ve recently been playing with the gingerbread stamp sets from Mama Elephant called Little Agenda Sweets and Little Gingerbread Agenda. These designs are soft, playful and a joy to create with! The entire “agenda” line of stamps are adorable, tiny and very quick to color.
To set the scene, I started with a white card base and added a forest background with Sunny Studio’s Forest Trees stencils and Ranger’s Cracked Pistachio Distress Oxide Ink. The sky was ink blended with Speckled Egg Distress Oxide Ink.
My alcohol marker selections…
I picked some soft pastel colors to work with, coloring everything in with my Ohuhu Alcohol Markers in the following colors.
- House- E160, E110
- Gingerbread boy/girl- YR20, E110, YR10
- Pink accents- RV260, RV270
- Green accents- G320, G340
- Blue accents- BG3, B220
- Lavender accents- V230, R24
- Windows- Y121
- Snow shadows- B030
- Peppermint candies- R9, R160
In addition, the snowy landscape was made with Lawn Fawn’s Stitched Hillside Borders and some white card stock. This was adhered to the card base over the tree stenciled backdrop.
Because I wanted to add some dimension, I, therefore, popped up the house, sign and two of the gingerbread kids. Wanting more visual interest, I added a light touch of Stickles Stardust here and there, and then my card had a glittery finish!
On the inside…
Next, I wanted to make the inside pretty as well, so I added another element from the Little Agenda Sweets stamp set, placing it in the bottom left corner. I cut out the two piece banner using Mama Elephant’s Winter Banner Greetings, and color blended the layers with Cracked Pistachio Distress Oxide ink. This is the same color as the stenciled forest on the front of the card. I made sure to darken the base for contrast before gluing the layers together.
In addition to creating this card, I’ve also been busy making a Christmas tree full of handmade ornaments! You may remember my dancin’ gingerbreads from this post.
I’ll be sharing all of my tree decorations very soon, but until then, I hope your Christmas shopping, parties, celebrations and adventures have been memorable and full of happiness! However, let’s all remember the real reason for the season, as we celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Merry Christmas, friends!!
Until next time,
~Krista
