Hello Crafty Friends!
Today I’m sharing a fun card featuring some mice who are flying kites. I can’t seem to get enough of these adorable Lawn Fawn critters who just make me smile! Don’t you just love the little baby mouse sitting on it’s momma’s shoulders?! So adorable!
I stamped images from Whoosh Kites, by Lawn Fawn and I used the coordinating stencils to color everything in.
Step by step…
I created the background by ink blending a white panel with Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide Ink. Next I used a grass die by Hello Bluebird, cutting a white grass-topped panel. It was then ink blended with Twisted Citron, Mowed Lawn and Rustic Wilderness Distress Oxide pads.
Once the grass panel was adhered to the sky panel, I splattered them with black and white paint.
Before gluing the images down, I played with placement and then carefully drew in the kite strings with a black 005 Micron pen, hiding the ends under the mice and kites.
The “hooray” word bubble is from All the Speech Bubbles and the sentiment at the bottom edge is from Whoosh Kites.
I added another kite flying mouse on the inside, but left it blank and ready for a hand written, personalized note.
If you’ve been following me recently, you’ve already seen some of my other Lawn Fawn creations and I hope you’ve been inspired. You can see them here and here. As I’ve mentioned before, one of my loves about Lawn Fawn is that everything is pretty much sized the same, making it easy to mix and match images from different sets. It’s like getting more for your money, and we can certainly get excited about that!!
I’ve been working on lots of exciting projects that I’ll soon be sharing in my Etsy store…think Christmas… 🙂
